Allow webp use on website but disallow webp as featured image during post creation

I am currently using webp images with the help of imagify plugin on my website. The problem is when creating a new post and setting a webp as featured image, the og:image wont show the webp image in Facebook.

Is there a way to just disallow editors to upload or selecting a webp as a featured image without disabling webp usage throughout the website?
