Layout changes on phone when held as landscape vs portrait

For some reason http://factualfiction.com/marsartists/ displays correctly on a phone when held in landscape position, but not in the normal portrait position. The site uses an old 2012 child-theme and I'm unsure of how this recent problem originated, but wondering if there is a quick fix...?
