I've been trawling google and looking through various articles but seem to have ended up in a massive mess now! I have had domain myprivatesite.com. The domain is registered with a different company to the hosting. It's been running (non-multisite) Wordpress for a while, with the Wordpress install in a sub-dir. I have an SSL cert on the domain (provided by the web host) and then enabled cloudflare for CDN via the hosts cPanel plugin. This has been running great! …
I have a subdomain multisite installation in site.com, with subsites such as sub1.site.com, sub2.site.com etc. I needed to transfer one of these sites to an own domain, sub1.com. So I changed the domain value from sub1.site.com to sub1.com on the network admin panel and at first it seemed to be working. However, I was not able to log in to the admin panel on the transferred site at sub1.com/wp-login.php. No error messages, but returned on the same page every time. …
Our multisite WordPress installation has a URL of https://xx.com for the main domain, and - for example, https://yy.xx.com as a subsite. We're using WP's in-built domain mapping feature. Media library links are still showing up as http://xx though, so any images used on the subdomains are flagged up as insecure. Only one subdomain - our most recent one - has media library links with a structure https://zz.xx.com. It's possible that the SSL certificate was installed after the other subdomains were …
I have a WordPress Multisite installation with its main url set to https://web.mydomain.com (there are some nginx proxies behind this url which I can't manage) Most of the sites are generated as https://web.mydomain.com/site1 https://web.mydomain.com/site2 https://web.mydomain.com/site3 One of the sites has a special url set (masked in one of nginx proxies) as: https://specialname.mydomain.com (which internally -i guess- redirects to https://web.mydomain.com/site1 without user noticing that) I've already edited site's settings in WP Site Manager to reflect this url and works Siteurl: https://specialname.mydomain.com …
I have wordpress setup with the domain set as mydomain.com I have a secondary domain that is mydomain.com.au Can I make wordpress use mydomain.com.au if someone comes to the site from a link that is mydomain.com.au. Any if they navigate through the site it stays as .com.au But if they come from mydomain.com it stays on mydomain.com when navigating? I've tried this but the url always shows as mydomain.com https://stackoverflow.com/questions/29915680/wordpress-2-domains-to-point-same-directory
I have a multisite setup using domains. Main/First Site = mydomain.com Second Site = www.mydomain.com Third Site = blog.mydomain.com All my main site network admin is on mydomain.com I would like to: move the site network admin access URL to say wpadmin.mydomain.com retire all content on mydomain.com this is because inside my network mydomain.com resolves to my domain controllers... i am using hosts file to override that for now, buts that not sustainable. Is this possible without doing this Switching …
I have been using WordPress multisite for several years without a problem. At some point in the last few days one of my many multisite domains is stuck in a redirection loop. The domain is http://www.drandrewhall.com and as of this writing is stuck in a redirection loop. This worked fine until a couple days ago. I have removed it from the domain mapping plugin and added it back in. I can remove the www domain and add in just the …
My WP multisite network is installed on subdomains like site1.domain.com so my main domain is: domain.com And site1.domain.com is a subsite, Then I mapped xyz.com domain to this subsite. Now I want another subsite (site2.domain.com) and want to map it to subdirectory ie: xyz.com/hindi/ How to do it?
I am using WordPress multisite setup to set the following structure example.com sub1.examples.com example.net Note that this is a single multisite setup, but it has two main domains and a subdomain. I followed the steps described here to perform the setup. Then, after adding example.net to the sites list, I tried to go to its dashboard in the admin section. Once I did that, I was presented with a login screen. When I try to login, I receive the following …
I have main domain as https://example.com. I added in cloudflare new subdomain as reviews.example.com. In wordpress I use redirection plugin and change url from https://example.com/some/path/some_post to https://reviews.example.com/some/path/some_post. And redirect work but it is redirecting to example.com again. The cyclic redirect is happening. All pages from reviews.example.com redirecting to example.com. Why is it happened? How can I get reviews.example.com if I use it in brouser address line? I have one WP instalation. I don't want to create new WP app for …
A theoretical question here. When I set up one multisite network for one website, how would I go about when I want to use different subdirectories per site then? From what I can see, you define one specific subdirectory per site in the Wordpress network settings. I'm imagining the multiste to look like this: Site 1 - Primary Site - Region Europe example.com/de/ example.com/fr/ Site 2 - Region North America example.com/us/ example.com/mx/ Site 3 - Region Asia example.com/jp/ example.com/cn/ Site …
I'm a software engineer with a WordPress site with hundreds of pages, and it's working very well. There are certain cases, however, where I'd love to be able to code my own page with no interaction with / interference from the WordPress system (no themes, no styles, no javascript, etc) yet still have it located on that same subdomain. How can I set https://example.com/special-page to display an HTML file uploaded somewhere within /wp-content/? And as a bonus, I'd love if …
I set my domain in the WordPress without www i.e xyz.com but realised after setting that xyz.com wasn't redirecting to www.xyz.com. Now I am unable to login into the admin panel. I grepped through the code but saw that the domain is not set as a value to any variable. Is it saved in the DB? How can I change it?
I have a client who operates a large (50+ sites) multisite/network installation of WordPress. When this network was first set up, the only solution available to map domains to sites in the network was the WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin, so that's what they've been using for many years now. It's kind of clunky, but it works. As of WP 4.5, however, domain mapping has been included natively in WordPress core. The WordPress MU Domain Mapping plugin, as a consequence, …
I have the following situation. I have created a WordPress Multisite for a client with "subdir" setup so all subsites are at; domain.com/site2 domain.com/site3 Now client wants to have some subsites in "sub-sub-folders" so they exist as; domain.com/services/site2 domain.com/services/site3 Is there any way to have it created like this? Done some research but I can really find any existing literature or help around this
I have a WordPress Multisite network. I'd like to have my main site on a seperate domain to my subdomains. What I mean by this is, for example, mymainsite.com on the main site, but my subdomains are based off another domain, subdomains.com, such as example1.subdomains.com, example2.subdomains.com, and so on. I've read about domain mapping, and I know that you can make subdomains then change Site URL to match, but I require that WordPress does this automatically so that when users …

Short: In Languages -> Settings -> URL modifications, the options "The language is set from the subdomain name in pretty permalinks" and "The language is set from different domains" are disabled. Why is this and how can I make these boxes selectable? I am particularly interested in the last option (different domains). Versions: Wordpress 5.5.1, Polylang 2.8.3 Background: My goal is a bilingual website (single web site install using polylang). I have two domains domain.aa and domain.bb for the languages …
I have a sub-domain network installation on www.example.com One of the sites is rabbit.example.com This site used to have a domain mapping to www.rabbit.com. I removed this mapping. However, when I go to http://rabbit.example.com/wp-admin, it forwards me to http://www.rabbit.com/wp-admin I have checked the site settings for rabbit.example.com, and the base URL and home URL are set to rabbit.example.com. I have double-checked the domain mapping is no longer there. I do not have a caching plugin installed. The site's database table, …
