I'm using wordpress for my site and my server is vps with memory of 2GB and SSD 40GB. My SQL Server crashes every now and then for few seconds and the website shows 'can't connect to the database'. I optimized the database using phpmyadmin and that made no difference. I also tried to look into the wp_options table and found the around 360 options are auto loaded which I think isn't too much. I am using query monitor wordpress plugin …

Recently I bought a small package of VPS to start working on a website. To make server configuration stuff easy, I installed VestaCP. I have installed WordPress on the server, then the necessary theme and plugins. A plugin of the website needs to fire scheduled/cron work on every 5 minutes. The problem is the scheduled jobs from the plugin are not running, though the site on a cPanel based VPS is working. I want to know what configuration needs to …

I've setup a brand new CentOS 7 VPS; everything configured by me. LAMP installation and the Apache virtual host configurations are all done. I've checked them before installing Wordpress and the HTML sites were being showed as well as the PHP info and everything else. After that I went on to setup Wordpress as usual. Then I tried to log-in(the log-in page got loaded successfully) but the log-in page directed me to an error message of 403 Forbidden: You don't …
I'm building a site for a client. This site often takes a long time to load initially, but is rather fast when loading the next page because of WP Super Cache plugin. But still, the majority of people visiting a site for the first time will navigate away if the site doesn't load completely in < 3 seconds. So I'm having a bit of a problem here. We are considering a new hoster. The budget is limited, so we prefer …
We've recently moved from Fastcomet's Speedup plan (shared) to a more powerful one, VPS2 (also Fastcomet) because our disk space was running low. Prior to the migration, our website www.famagusta.news was blazing fast. The moment they moved us to a bigger plan, everything went downhill. After the migration was completed, we've noticed the slow speed right away. We didn't install new plugins or updates, nothing that could have caused the slow speed. The only change we did, was to point …
My wp-options keeps crashing and am getting "error establishing a database connecting" when I try loading the page. I don't know whats causing this to happen, I read somewhere that I might need more ram so i upgraded my plan to get 2GB of ram 40GB of space. But today it crashed again, I repaired it and went to the error logs and this the same error i get when the wp-option crashes [14-Sep-2016 11:07:38 UTC] WordPress database error Table …
I've just recently setup a new Wordpress site on a Debian based VPS. I've managed to get everything working fine except for the permalinks. None of the options work except for the default one. My .htaccess file currently looks like this - # BEGIN WordPress <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule . /index.php [L] </IfModule> # END WordPress Any idea how to fix this? Thanks!
I have a WordPress Multisite - www.domain.com and a subomdain example.domain.com on a performance VPS. The subdomain is getting way more traffic and using more resources, and we don't want it to slow down the other subdomains or the main website. In order to provide resources to example.domain.com, would I be able to have it hosted on a separate VPS? I understand that all subdomains are connected to the same database; however, I've received lots of different answers and debates …
I have Arabic Characters in my URLs of my site. After setup my new VPS with LAMP and importing my local site into it, my Arabic URLs return 404 error and show me none-scene characters like below: The requested URL /خدمات-گردشگری/ was not found on this server. I'm double check mode_rewrite is enabled and my Charset of my SQL database is UTF-8 and tables are utf8_general_ci or utf8mb_general_ci Thank you.
I can't add any more content to the website. Theme devs said to increase limits on the server (memory_limit, max_input_vars, max_execution_time). We upgraded a package with the host, and tried to manually change these. However I can't do that because it's shared hosting. Hosting support now suggested to upgrade our account to a cPanel, VPS or Dedicated Server, and move the site. I never had to do that before, and I'm wondering if they're just trying to upsell, or is …

I follow all steps from tutorial and not working for me. I was reading little (I mean - a lot) on Google and find something like "VirtualServers". I didn't understand clearly, but I think I have to configure Apache for new sub-domain, or something. Can someone write full tutorial how to make this? So, VPS, Debian, Apache, WP, Sub-domain for images (like self-cdn). P.S …
I am looking into optimizing my WP blogs, and one thing that comes out is that several of the most acclaimed solutions people are offering (Such as eaccelerator and Nginx), are only available if I had an unmanaged account. According to other reasons you might detail, which is better (performance wise) for managing a WP site? (that is assuming you don't have experience in unmanaged solution but was willing to learn)
