Is there any way to manually focus the camera on my Android phone? I know that you can tap on where to focus, but that's just assisted auto focus. What I want is to be able to manually adjust the focus.
When I take a picture it makes a 'click' sound. As this is default behavior, I would like to turn it off. Is there a setting to do so; or if I find+delete the sound file, will there be repercussions? **Please note I am looking for a basically permanent solution rather than one that I would need to set/unset with each use of the app. I like the idea of a root solution, or an app solution; but for the …
If I take some photos, and then go to the Gallery app, those photos do not always appear immediately. I've tried causing the Gallery to refresh, but the images simply do not appear for more than 15 minutes. I can open the Camera app again and browse through them, so I know they have been stored. Is there a way to eliminate the latency between when a photo is taken using Camera and when it appears in Gallery?

One of the reasons I brought my Samsung Galaxy S was because it has a front facing camera. However I have found since buying it: Camera app can't use it Gtalk doesn't support video calling on android Skype isn't supported (Update: skype has announced support, but not working on Galaxy S yet, and is voice only) So what can I actually do with my front facing camera or did I just waste my money?
Is there a camera application (or other solution) that has quick response time between button press and taking the picture? On HTC Hero, the delay from button press to shutter is painfully long - focusing, etc seem to take a lot of time with the stock camera app. On HTC EVO with the stock Camera app, distant shots focus and shoot quickly. However, closer shots can take some time focusing.
