How can I see the title alt text for website images on an HTC Desire? I'm currently using the Dolphin HD browser but I can't see a way of getting the alt text.
Recently I bought an HTC Desire overall I'm very happy with it. There seems to be one major flaw, it overheats quite easily causing it to reboot. I've run into this several times while driving using the navigation whilst recharging. Does anyone have any suggestions to workaround this problem? I've searched around but haven't found any helpful information.
I have setup three alarms on my HTC Desire (running standard 2.1 with Sense). Mo, Tu, We, Fr @ 05:45 Th @ 05:30 Sa @ 07:00 They are set as repeating alarms and the phone displays the little clock symbol in the top right corner indicating that an alarm is active. I have been running the phone with DeskClock activated each night and this also says that there is an alarm active for 05:45 the next morning. However I have …
I did read this question What is the right way to close apps in Android? but I want to know how to close - that means close - application to save power and download limit. My observations tell me that Back button brings me to the previous page (something I am not after) while Home seems to me leaves the page loading in background. So the question is how do I exit the browser. I tried Advanced Application Killer but …
I made the mistake of sync'ing my PC with my HTC Desire and now my calendar has lots of double entries; From Exchange and from HTC Sync (Outlook)... Any wy to remove all traces of the HTC Sync entries?
I have a HTC Desire that was on 2.1 and worked perfectly with my works exchange server. But since upgrading to 2.2 I cannot get it to work at all. There are no errors it just synchs forever. Any suggestions?
I have been trying out Voice Actions on an HTC Desire. Actions like "Navigate to...", "Directions to..." and "Note to self..." work fine. When I try saying "Set alarm to 9 o'clock" though I get this error message: "Set alarm..." In order to use this feature, download the latest Clock from the Android Market. I already have the HTC Clock application and as far as I am aware it is fully updated but I'm assuming that the HTC Clock doesn't …
I currently have a HTC Desire with T-Mobile. If I buy an unlocked HTC Desire HD (Sim-free) and pop in my current T-Mobile SIM will I get OTA updates for the Desire HD or the standard Desire that I have with T-Mobile? If I won't be able to get OTA updates, will I have a manual update option from HTC direct when they release updates? I've never bought a Sim-Free phone before so not sure how this works.
I was wondering how accurate is the GPS is in my HTC Desire Android compared to a dedicated hand held GPS unit or in car satnav? The reason I ask is that I have read articles complaining that the iPhone's GPS is not very accurate and wondered if it applied to all mobiles.
I have an HTC Desire phone running Android and I use the Google Maps application. I can search for locations using text entry but I would like to be able to use the voice entry feature which was added last year. You can now search Google Maps for Android simply by speaking your query and Google Maps will search it for you. I have the latest version of Google Maps from the Android Market but I don't see how to …
Is there an application manager that would easily kill/close an application from memory install applications unstall applications Platform: HTC Desire and Android 2.1.

I have an HTC Desire with T-Mobile Germany branding. Last Sunday I finally got the long-awaited Android 2.2 update from my operator. The update ran successfully. However, since then it doesn't get the GPS location! The blue dot won't lock on Google Maps. Another GPS-App, "Gps Status" cannot get the coordinates, even after almost half an hour. Restart or reinserting the SD-Card doesn't help. I wonder if anyone here experienced something similar after the update. Cheers
I have an HTC Desire and would like to connect USB devices to it, for example an external USB thumb drive to transfer files or a USB keyboard. Is this at all possible?
Is is possible somehow to distinguish between the phone being off or sleeping without turning it on in the process (this happens when pressing the power button)? I appreciate that I can just use silent or airplane mode rather than turning it off, but was interested to see if there was a way.
I have updated to Froyo on my HTC Desire yesterday and am testing out the portable hotspot option. The problem is that it is very unstable, at random times (1 to 10 minutes) I lose the WiFi connection. I have a laptop on my lap and the Desire in my pocket, so it's not like they are out of reach. Does anybody have any ideas on this? Similar experiences?
How do I do tethering with an HTC Desire on the Swiss carrier Swisscom? When I plug the phone and pick share internet, my computer asks me for phone number, username and password; oh, and it says I plugged in a modem.
Is there any way to rename a contact group on the HTC Desire? Via "Edit Group" in People you can add and remove members, but the title doesn't seem to be editable. I could add a new group of course and move contacts over, but unless there's an easy way to do this en-mass this would be inconvenient.
My HTC Desire is set up to flash its LED lamp whenever I receive an email, SMS etc. Only problem is that (without touching the phone) the LED stops flashing after 5 minutes or so. So if a message comes in while I'm not near my phone and I don't come back for more than 5 minutes, I have to turn on the screen to discover the message. I've searched through everything, but there seems to be no setting for …
