I'm using android 2.2 on a stock Nexus one (from the pre-developer phone stage). Should the music player be able to cope with WMAs? I'm sure I've seen references to it coping with them, but they are currently just dead weight on the SD card. I actually quite like the stock player so installing a new player is the fallback option.
I find that podcasts have very low volume on my nexus one, using the google listen application while using headphones. My headphones have no volume control, and the nexus one is turned up to the max. I don't suppose there's any way to up this more? As it is now, I can't listen to podcasts while I'm on the bus/metro since the ambient noise drowns them out. Maybe I can talk to the city to see if they will lower …
I have to send two contacts in my phone book to another contact, on my Nexus One Android 2.2. How can I do this easiest? On my old SonyEricsson this function was on a nearby menu, but I can't find it on Android. I have also tried to copy the phone number when in edit mode of the contacts, but I can not paste it when composing the SMS to my contact. Is there really no way to transfer a …
Whenever I connect my Nexus One to the official car dock, my phone heats up rapidly, and eventually restarts. Obviously, the phone is restarting to prevent it from damaging itself. So the question becomes why is it over-heating (the phone can draw too much current for its own good?) and how can I prevent it from happening. As a side note, I have never observed this happen while I had the phone charging in the official desk dock, although most …
Possible Duplicate: Where can I find stock or custom ROMs for my Android device? I have found many custom ROMs for download. But now I want to use the official ROM for my phone. Is there any way to do it without a NAndroid backup?
I have an unlocked Nexus One that I rooted to remove a system application (Twitter), but now the OTA system update fails with the message Verifying current system ... assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/Twitter.apk", "<long hex string>") E:Error in /cache/c8847c98b948.signed-passion-FRG83-fromFR91.c8847c98.zip (status 7) Un-rooting the device doesn't seem to fix this. Is there more to removing a system app than doing a 'rm' of the .apk? For example, is there some configuration file that also needs patching?
Possible Duplicate: Are there any risks to rooting a device? I download the screenshot to use on my Nexus One (N1) but it can not run and said it requires root access. What is it, how can I allow that and what risks/notes to take when letting them the "admin" access like that?
I have a rooted nexus one with the android 2.1 update1. I have received the OTA notifications for a system update for the 2.2, but it didn't succeed. I must have the phone rooted (for now) so I can have Hebrew on it. Where can I download the latest android 2.2 (FRF 91) and how should I install it? Dows the upgrade also wipes the contents of the SD card?
I know this is a bit tangential, but bear with me. The Exchange calendar sync works perfectly for me, however, it would be AWESOME if I could see my exchange calendar with my other Google calendars in the desktop browser, just like it does on my phone. :) It looks like the Exchange Sync uses Google Calendar to merge both my personal Google calendar and my business exchange calendar on the phone. Any way to recreate this on the desktop …
Is there a good place that documents how to compile Android from source and put it on Nexus One? For instance, I would like to checkout the source files of Froyo from the official repository and put it on my Nexus One... Any suggestions?
I often check my mail at my office using the VPN connection which bridged my PC with the Microsoft Exchange Server and so that I can check mail using Outlook. I want to do the same thing when I'm out of my office and on my Nexus One mobile phone. I have succeeded in setting up the VPN connection (see details here). But I cannot succeed in setting up my email on the phone. Steps I have made: Open my …

I've done some research and there seem to be advantages and disadvantages to each. I'm fairly confident that I can physically run both in Australia, however which will give me the best experience given the mobile bands and technology available here? The main things I'm concerned with: Reception for phone calls - probably fine in the US, but what about AU? Data speeds - Are 3G and/or HSDPA available? Handset speed - specs are similar, but which one actually performs, …
